Dynetics Industrial Automation Chosen as Supplier of Current Based Test (CBT) Systems to Ford Motor Company.

Dynetics Industrial Automation was recently awarded a contract to provide Current Based Testing (CBT) equipment to nearly all of Ford Motor Company's North American assembly plants. Dynetics was chosen due to their experience with current based testing, short product development cycle and competitive pricing. Dynetics' CBT system is comprised of a host station, portable operator hand terminals, and battery interface units that work together on a RF LAN infrastructure. The host station is a fully-redundant server with RAID 1 storage architecture in an industrial enclosure.  Each server is protected by its own uninterruptable power supply. The operator hand terminal is an off-the-shelf portable transaction computer with integrated wireless LAN capability. These units prompt the operator through a series of electrical function checks while the battery interface unit measures the current draw to make sure that all connections are made on the vehicle, no bulbs are missing and the circuit is functioning properly. Dynetics' CBT makes it possible for auto makers to have 100% objective testing of vehicle electrical systems before shipping the vehicle to the customer. CBT also allows assembly plants to remove redundant electrical checks that are usually necessary when relying on the subjective inspection of operators.

Dynetics Industrial Automation, Huntsville, AL, is a high-technology computer hardware and software solutions company that excels in implementing advanced technology in harsh plant environments.
